The history of Ebony being used in carved furniture can be traced back to the ancient Egyptians. The artisans at Holland Bowl Mill have created a similarly rich, lustrous look on their wooden bowls by using a process called “Ebonizing.” They make the ebonizing solution from two common products, vinegar, and steel wool and is very safe.
